My most beautiful trips
In the Labyrinth of Time
This travelogue takes you along the spectacular Harpers Corner Drive in Dinosaur National Monument. From the vibrant layers of Plug Hat Butte to the dizzying precipices of Echo Park, we experience a landscape shaped by millions of years. It is a journey to the giants of prehistory, through deep canyons of colorful sandstone and across vast plateaus where tectonics have thrust the earth upward like giant shark teeth. An adventure between Colorado and Utah, defined by silence, vastness, and the raw power of nature.
Of White Domes and Burning Cliffs
The Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City is far more than just a seat of government; it is a testament in stone to history and pioneering spirit. From the majestic neoclassical architecture of the main building with its magnificent rotunda and historic chambers to the modern Capitol complex featuring the new North Capitol Building and the Museum of Utah, this site seamlessly blends tradition with progress. The intricate statues of pioneers like Brigham Young and visionaries like Martha Hughes Cannon, alongside architectural details such as the original roll-top desks in the Senate, tell the unique story of the “Beehive State.”
A Monument to Democracy
The drive along the spectacular Million Dollar Highway offered pure thrills past steep cliffs and colorful peaks like the Red Mountains. After passing through the wild Uncompahgre Gorge, I reached historic Ouray, where Victorian gems like the Beaumont Hotel and the Wright Opera House left a lasting impression. A fascinating blend of alpine wilderness and pioneer history.
Peaks in Eternal White: My Journey Through the San Juans
A breathtaking drive from Durango to Silverton in April. The changing perspectives of striking peaks such as Engineer Mountain, Snowdon Peak and the Needle Mountains are otherworldly. The wintry atmosphere at Andrews Lake and Molas Lake highlights the dramatic beauty of the San Juan Mountains.
Silverton: A Living Monument in the Clouds
Silverton fascinates as a living monument to mining history at an altitude of nearly 10,000 feet. Nestled against the glowing red slopes of the San Juan Mountains, the town offers a stunning contrast between rugged nature and colorful architecture. Highlights such as the majestic Grand Imperial Hotel, the historic Silverton Star House, and the Villa Dallavalle tell stories of past wealth and adventure. Between historic saloons, the old jail, and the San Juan County Court House, Wild West charm and alpine beauty merge into a unique experience.

Peaks in Eternal White: My Journey Through the San Juans
Our Saturday in Boulder was defined by impressive architecture and the unique flair of Pearl Street. We admired historical gems such as the Art Deco Courthouse and the legendary Hotel Boulderado, before the sight of the majestic Flatirons finally drew us out into the tranquil nature of the mountains.
Rocky Mountain National Park
Our April 4th excursion to Rocky Mountain National Park was a journey through spectacular mountain panoramas. From the first glimpses of Longs Peak and Mount Meeker near Estes Park to the hike around the icy Bear Lake, nature provided an impressive backdrop of rugged rock formations like Hallett Peak and the Mummy Range. Sighting deer grazing by the roadside added to the authentic wildlife experience. The day concluded perfectly with a luxurious stay at the Riversong Inn, where we were able to reflect on the overwhelming impressions of the day in total comfort.
Rocky Mountain NP – Day 2
On the Deer Mountain Trail, we enjoyed—during the first 1.5 miles—the spectacular contrast between the rugged, gray-blue peaks and the sunlit valleys on both sides.
On the Cub Lake Trail, the atmosphere grew gentler; amidst the vast mountain meadows, we observed a marmot on the warm rocks and a raptor circling calmly above the granite walls. The hike concluded with The Loop Trail, which we had to cut short due to bad weather.
A Riot of Color on Cottonwood Canyon Road
“A touch of adventure on Cottonwood Canyon Road: Join us on a journey through the rugged heart of Utah. From the vibrant colors of Yellow Rock and the mesmerizing twists of the Cottonwood Narrows to the majestic Grosvenor Arch – we’ll take you to the pristine highlights off the beaten path.”
Red Cliffs National Conservation Area
“Contrasts in the red rock: Our hikes on the Red Reef Trail and the White Reef Trail couldn’t have been more different. While we wandered through lush greenery past small waterfalls and natural pools in the Red Reef Canyon, the White Reef Trail rewarded us with sweeping panoramic views over the vibrant desert basin and historic traces of old mines. Two paths, one area – and countless photo opportunities in the heart of Greater Zion.”
Lava Tubes & Petrified Sand Dunes at Snow Canyon
“In Snow Canyon State Park, worlds collided for us: from the mysterious darkness of the Lava Tubes, explored by flashlight, we stepped straight onto the frozen giant waves of the Petrified Sand Dunes. A place where deep black lava meets vibrant orange sandstone – a true feast for the senses and the camera.”
Zion National Park - Pa'rus Trail
Zion National Park is an eight-layered sandstone masterpiece with towering cliffs, deep red canyons, and adjacent mesas, rocky outcrops, and massive monoliths. Hundreds of millions of years of geological history sculpted the magnificent trio of the Patriarchs, Observation Point, and the Twin Brothers.
The Pa’rus Trail follows the Virgin River north through Lower Zion Canyon from the park entrance. Enchanting mountains line both sides of the trail.
Zion NP - Angels Landing
Angels Landing is, without exaggeration, one of the most exhilarating hikes in the world and an unforgettable adventure. The breathtaking view of the rock strata of Zion Canyon transports you back to the Triassic period, when this part of the Colorado Plateau was still a shallow basin at sea level.
Nowhere is the saying “The journey is the destination” more apt than here. Indeed, at Angels Landing, it’s almost three-quarters of the fun.
From Sun Point to the Virginia Falls in Glacier NP
Glacier is one of the top 3 National Parks of the US. No where else, you will find so many gorges Mountains and so many Glaciers in the US than in this NP. Today, in the clearings shaped by fire, every peak revealed itself, each one distinct in form and color, each one adding its voice to the story of the valley.
Sadness and beauty, destruction and renewal, all seemed to walk beside me on the trail.
Plain of Six Glaciers
This morning, I set out on one of the most rewarding hikes in the Canadian Rockies: the Plain of Six Glaciers Trail at Lake Louise. The trail stretches over 13.8 kilometers with an elevation gain of 591 meters, and it truly feels like a journey through layers of natural beauty, history, and alpine majesty.
The Big Beehive
When I set out from the turquoise waters of Lake Louise on this late August day, the air was still cool and fresh, and the peaks that tower above the valley seemed to shimmer in the early sunlight.
Columbia Icefield -Glacier-Lake Trail & Peyto Lake Panorama
My day along the Icefields Parkway reads like a love letter to the Rockies—every turn, trail, and turquoise lake etched in my memory. Let me transport this back to those moments, weaving in some stories behind the mountains and the lake that stole my heart.
Piacenza: A Journey Through Stone, Time, and Soul
“Strolling through Piacenza is like walking inside a living chronicle, where each building tells a chapter of Italian history—Romanesque, Gothic, Baroque, and beyond.”
Bergamo
Bergamo is a city of rare beauty, divided into two worlds: the lively lower town (Città Bassa) and the medieval upper town (Città Alta), perched on a hill. Shaped by Venetian rule, religious tradition and cultural wealth, Bergamo tells its story through palaces, churches and squares that have grown over centuries. A walk through this city is a journey through eras – from Roman heritage to modern times.

Milan: A Cultural and Architectural Journey through the City
Milan, the cosmopolitan heart of Lombardy, is a city where the past and the present meet in a uniquely elegant way. Every building, every piazza, every archway tells a story that reaches far into the past. I set out on a journey through the city’s most iconic places – and was rewarded with a walk through centuries of history, faith, and architectural excellence.
