Jimmy McHugh, Dorothy Fields

I’m Erwin, born in Kaiserstuhl, Germany. I have lived in Aargau, Switzerland, for more than 25 years. and even as a pensioner I am still hungry for travel.

I have loved traveling since my 18th birthday. With Interrail I explored Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia, Greece, Czech Republic, Slovakia and several other countries. At the age of 23, I set off as a backpacker on my first major tour of Southeast Asia – Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka, Burma and Thailand.

Married and with a son, we flew again to Thaland. However, our son did not enjoy the long flight.

Therefore, in the following years we booked several beach holidays with childcare. A swimming pool with slides was also mandatory. The travel destinations booked were Italy, Greece, Türkiye, Tunisia and Spain.

Since the children are older, we have been organizing everything ourselves again. This applies to the USA, Canada, Morocco, but also to Switzerland, Italy, the Czech Republic, Poland, Germany…

Since my 60th birthday, I’ve been traveling alone most of the time, as the children go their own way and my wife still works.
